The nuclear-powered strategic missile cruiser "Knyaz Pozharsky" (Project 955A, Borei-A class) is undergoing sea trials, Mikhail Budnichenko, General Director of Sevmash, stated on the sidelines of the "Army-2024" forum.
Works with the cruiser "Knyaz Pozharsky" are on schedule. It is undergoing sea trials.
After the sea trials, the state trials of "Knyaz Pozharsky" will begin in 2024. After that, the submarine will be handed over to the customer.
The nuclear cruiser was laid down in December 2016. It will carry 16 solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) "Bulava" developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology. The submarine was launched in February 2024.
