The Avito classifieds service team has announced the launch of a new service for evaluating used smartphones, developed in collaboration with the Citilink online retailer. Now, users can easily check the technical condition of their devices and find out their market value using a robot appraiser.
Since the launch of the smartphone buyback program in 2022, Avito has connected 75 partners to the project and expanded it to 85 cities in Russia.
Now, sellers will be able to take advantage of the free appraisal service in Citilink stores. Each store will have a robot appraiser that uses artificial intelligence to diagnose the device and determine its fair value. If the seller is satisfied with the appraisal, a store employee will confirm the sale and buy back the gadget.
Robot appraisers will be available in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Voronezh. To use the service, you must place an advertisement for the sale of a smartphone on the Avito platform. If the pilot project is successful, it is planned to install another 20 such robots in Citilink stores by the end of 2024.
The robot appraiser is capable of evaluating smartphones of any brand and operating system, but does not yet work with foldable models and devices that support eSIM. These features may appear in the future.
