Representatives of the capital's authorities want to ban the rental of electric scooters in mass event locations. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
According to Liksutov, bans may be introduced to address socially important tasks. This has already been done in St. Petersburg during the SPIEF-2024.
I have heard that many cities use such a system. First of all, it is important when, for example, there are some big concerts, a large gathering of people, it is set up in such a way for many to do it automatically, just to avoid some situations.
It is worth noting that earlier in the capital, the possibility of riding personal mobility devices was already limited. The following streets were banned: Bolshaya Nikitskaya, Malaya Bronnaya, Bolshaya Dmitrovka, and Gazetny Lane. They were made pedestrian during the "Eat. Walk. Breathe" festival and the "Summer in Moscow" event.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia may create a police force to control electric scooter users.
