40 Drone Flight Sites to Be Created in Russia

They will appear by the end of this year

Russia plans to create sites for quadcopter flights. This was announced by Andrey Potemkin, Deputy Head of Rosaviatsiya.

The decision to create separate zones for unmanned aerial vehicle flights is being considered for a reason. Rosaviatsiya received 680 letters from city administrations across the country. Representatives proposed revising the rules regarding drone flights.

By the end of 2024, the first 40 airspaces for quadcopter flights will appear in the Russian Federation.

It was noted that it is planned to reduce the time for issuing flight permits. It currently takes from 2 to 4 hours with the right to launch the next day.

The new initiative will allow training drone operators and making videos in flight.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia is opening the first flight test complex for drones with a special site.
