Specialists from the Schwabe Holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) have developed a line of the first Russian anamorphic cinema lenses for shooting ultra-wide shots, the corporation's press service reported.
Similar optics are used by major film studios. Cinema lenses provide high image quality thanks to a complex system of cylindrical lenses, allowing for unique ultra-wide shots.
The press service of Rostec State Corporation explained that, unlike images obtained with wide-angle lenses, an anamorphic image is not distorted or darkened at the edges of the frame.
Features of the cinema lens from Schwabe:
- high aperture
- operation in low light conditions
- ergonomic design
- creation of shallow depth of field, background blur, bokeh (out-of-focus blur) and other effects
The Schwabe development has already been tested by Russian operators. They noted the good cinematic quality of the device.
