A transforming ankle prosthesis has been developed at the South Ural State University (SUSU). This was announced by Sergey Sapozhnikov, Chief Researcher of the Department of \"Technical Mechanics\" of SUSU.
The Russian transformer prosthesis is made of composite materials. This makes it durable and lightweight. It is noted that the domestic model has no analogues in the world.
According to Sergey Sapozhnikov, patients have to change up to 4 ankle prosthesis models for different degrees of load. They differ in stiffness, foot angle and level of shock absorption. The new development replaces them all.
Our model of a medical device provides for the replacement of the heel part of the prosthesis, depending on the patient's needs. And in terms of mechanical parameters, our prosthesis is completely identical to standard imported prostheses, but at the same time it is universal.
The owner of a transforming prosthesis does not need to contact service centers. The medical device can be customized to your needs independently. A rubber buffer is provided to increase rigidity. It can be attached to the bottom of the structure.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the production of cyber prostheses and implants with intuitive control will be launched in Moscow.
