A rare modification of the Tor-M2KM anti-aircraft missile system on a KAMAZ-6560 chassis has been spotted in Crimea. The vehicle is capable of arriving at firing positions 1.25 - 1.3 times faster on the highway due to a travel speed of about 90 - 100 km/h.
The speed of movement of the installation is an important advantage in the event of the need for urgent formation of a short-range anti-missile barrier over a strategically important object, or covering the dead zone of the S-400 or S-300V4 SAM system in a missile-hazardous direction.
In addition to standard 9M331D anti-aircraft missiles, this complex can also be equipped with advanced 9M338K SAMs with available overloads of up to 40 units, improved radio fuses, and a maximum speed on the trajectory of up to 1000 m/s.
These SAMs have a higher efficiency in intercepting maneuvering targets with an ultra-small effective reflecting surface, including SCALP-EG missiles, as well as rockets and ballistic objects with speeds up to 800 m/s.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces on the front line created a homemade 2S8 howitzer from a BMP-1 gun. They cut out part of the structure and mounted the smooth-bore "Grom" on a base that could be quickly assembled from several parts.
