The State Duma proposed to transfer employees of the road transport service (DPS) to scooters. The appeal was made last week by the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma, Vladislav Davankov. MTS Urent supported the initiative and presented a prototype of an electric scooter for the police.
The scooters were presented at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum. The Ninebot S90L model was taken as a basis, which has strength and an increased level of comfort. It was supplemented with a new livery, inscription and changed color from purple to white.
Ninebot S90L scooters in white with the inscription “DPS” are equipped with turn signals, two dashboards and other improved safety features.
Representatives of the company said that they are ready to provide law enforcement officers with scooters of this model.
In large cities of Russia, there is a motorcycle police that fights offenders on motorcycles, so it is logical that the idea of a scooter police also has a place to be.
It is worth noting that the authorities are paying more and more attention to personal mobility device users. Since the beginning of this year, many mechanisms have been developed to combat traffic offenders. The latter includes a proposal to reduce the speed of scooters when riding on the sidewalk to 10 km/h.
