At SibNIA named after S.A. Chaplygin, the assembly of the second flight prototype of the new Russian "Partizan" drone is almost complete, it only lacks a domestic power plant. This was announced at a press conference by a representative of the institute.
We are currently interacting with domestic developers, including those involved in hybrid power plants. And we plan to install a domestic engine on it. We must bring the second copy to flight condition by the end of the year.
As a potential power plant for the "Partizan", in particular, a 500 kW hybrid power plant (HPP) based on the VK-650V turboshaft engine is being considered. This VK-650V engine is currently being prepared for flight tests and certification, it will replace the "heart" for Ansat helicopters and a number of other Russian aircraft.
In addition, work is underway with the first copy of the "Partizan", which first took to the air in early February 2024. Then the flight was performed by test pilot, SibNIA Director Vladimir Barsuk, now the flight tests will be carried out by the automatic control system of the machine.
Earlier it was assumed that the serial production of the heavy "Partizan" drone would begin in 2024, and 10 copies of it would be produced by the end of the year. The drone is expected in "Pochta Rossii", the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other structures.
