Улучшит экологию: в Челябинске создали инновационный экобетон, впитывающий загрязнения

It is planned to be used in the construction of roads and sidewalks

Specialists from the South Ural State University (SUSU) have developed a unique concrete capable of cleaning the environment. This was announced by Marina Butakova, Associate Professor of the Department of "Building Materials and Products" at SUSU.

The new material is unique not only for Russia — there are no analogues in the world. Eco-concrete is planned to be used for the construction of roads and sidewalks.

According to Marina Butakova, the novelty has high porosity properties. The material retains dangerous substances such as zinc, ammonia, arsenic and heavy metals inside, thereby cleaning the environment.

Interestingly, this unique material can be made from production waste, which also contributes to environmental cleaning.

Sorption-active concrete was created from production waste (empty rocks covering deposits of magnesite deposits with magnesite and dolomite in the composition).

The use of mining magnesite-dolomite waste as raw materials will not only reduce the economic burden on land tenants, but also significantly reduce the cost of production of the concrete coating itself.

Studies have shown that the developed concrete also has high strength indicators. To create pedestrian zones, only 5 cm of material is needed, and already 10 cm of concrete as a road surface will withstand not only cars, but also trucks such as KAMAZ trucks.

Now the authors of the project invite representatives of mining enterprises for the future transfer of industrial waste and future debugging of the production of the new material.

Earlier www1.ru reported that scientists from Yekaterinburg created special bricks to contain radiation at nuclear power plants.
