Росатом отправил для китайских АЭС ключевые части системы безопасности и реакторов

The machine-building division of Rosatom State Corporation has sent a new batch of equipment to China for two nuclear power plants under construction. Key parts of the safety system and reactors, weighing about 500 tons, will be delivered to the Tianwan and Xudapu NPPs by rail, road and sea.

A pressure compensator for the eighth power unit of the NPP was sent to Tianwan NPP, which is being built according to the Russian project and will become the largest in the world after completion of the work. It is designed to ensure the necessary pressure in the primary circuit of the reactor. In the assembled state, its length is about 14 meters with a diameter of 3.3 meters. The weight of the apparatus is 186 tons.

The Xudapu NPP will soon receive four hydroaccumulators of the reactor core emergency cooling system, one of the key elements of the NPP safety system. Four independent tanks, weighing 75 tons and with a volume of 60 cubic meters, are filled with an aqueous solution of boric acid and connected by a pipeline to the reactor vessel.

Also, a bubbler for the fourth power unit was shipped for the Xudapu NPP. It is needed to condense the steam coming from the pressure compensator and other equipment of the primary circuit in heating and other operating modes of the reactor. The apparatus made of austenitic chromium-nickel steel weighs 15 tons. Its length is about 8 meters, diameter is 2.5 meters, height is 4 meters.

Before shipment, all equipment was tested to confirm compliance with the requirements for products for nuclear power facilities. All tests, according to Rosatom, were carried out with the participation of Chinese specialists.
