SpaceX mission wreckage element adorns Russian mechanical watch

Luxury brand Caviar presents a model from the Space Tornado watch collection, inlaid with an artifact

Russian luxury brand Caviar has unveiled a limited collection of Space Tornado mechanical watches. They combine a tourbillon at 6 o'clock, a power reserve indicator, and a day/night function.

The collection includes only three models, the most important of which is the Stargazer X-Edition watch with a piece of the SpaceX Starship mission spacecraft at the 12 o'clock mark. Its dial is stylized as the surface of Jupiter's satellite Europa, with blue inclusions that symbolize oceans and life. The model with a piece of the SpaceX mission spacecraft will cost from 429,000 rubles.

The company notes that they acquired the artifact from a collector who picked up fragments of Starship north of the SpaceX test site in March 2024 after the Starship crash. The watches in this limited series "symbolize humanity's desire to understand the world around them, its willingness to make sacrifices and not give up after failures".

The Space Tornado series also includes the SkyWard skeletonized watch and the Twin Spin double tourbillon watch. The latter can be purchased from 399,000 rubles.

Earlier, on October 31, 2023, Caviar presented a collection of iPhones indirectly related to space for Halloween. The brand's designers then dedicated three versions of the back panels to extraterrestrial life forms reflected in horror films and science fiction.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Max models received particles of an earthly meteorite from Murchison, "containing amino acids from space," and pieces of meteorites from the Moon and Mars in their body inlay.
