PJSC UAC, in the process of implementing the import substitution program and increasing the production rate of Russian aircraft, plans to increase cooperation with Belarusian aircraft factories. This became known during the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his delegation to the Irkutsk Aviation Plant.
We are increasing the production volumes of Russian aircraft, and we have repeatedly visited Belarusian aviation factories. These enterprises have preserved the aviation production culture. Therefore, it is now important to move from cooperation, which we had in aircraft repair and military programs, to scaling up our tasks for civilian products. Potentially, billions of rubles are the order that we can place with Belarusian aviation enterprises. These are parts, components. Economically and technologically, we are very close. We have signed contracts, we are already cooperating, we are making a range of products for the Tu-214, and this needs to be scaled up and taken to a new level. This requires political will and organization of processes, calculations, and investments. First of all, this is cooperation on civilian and transport programs. As for the MC-21, we are interested in expanding the pool of potential operators, including Belavia.
Belavia, however, has already expressed interest in the promising airliner, and it may well become one of the first potential operators of the MC-21 abroad.
During the visit, the delegation was shown the production workshops of the enterprise that produce civilian products, and the work of the production workshops where military fighters are assembled for the needs of the Air Force of the allied states. Belarusian military pilots use multi-functional Su-30SM fighters and Yak-130 combat training aircraft from Irkutsk military aviation products.
As a memento of the trip, Alexander Lukashenko was presented with a model of the Su-30SM2 fighter, and the head of Belarus said that it was his "favorite aircraft".
