Kicksharing services began blocking teenage accounts

Electric scooter rental services have begun blocking accounts of minors. The reason is a violation of the age limit established in the rules for the operation of personal mobility devices (PMD). This was reported by employees of the MTS Yurent kicksharing company.

Most of the violators were in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kazan.

The blocking started in May of this year using the MTS ID authentication service (the information provided by the client is verified against the MTS mobile operator database). In a couple of weeks, MTS Yurent banned about 4 thousand accounts of minors.

The process itself is safe for the client, as the data is not transmitted in clear text, the service only receives a marker about the user's compliance with the specified criteria.

Next in line is the Woosh kicksharing service. The company has already begun to address the issue of tracking underage PMD users. Experts emphasized the need for such measures. They will reduce the number of violators on the roads.

It is worth noting that the authorities in Russia have thoroughly addressed PMD users. Not only private companies, but also the country's authorities are trying to bring order to the operation of electric scooters.

Various tracking systems are used to combat violators, PMDs are assigned numbers for identification, and fines are imposed for non-compliance with traffic rules and improper behavior in the urban environment.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that kicksharing services began fining their customers.
