Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov said that the decision was made to ensure public safety.

Personal mobility devices create additional risks on the road, as they can be driven by, among others, children and teenagers who have a poor knowledge of traffic rules.

In light of recent events, it is becoming clear that the Russian authorities are aware of a number of problems associated with the use of PMD. Gradually, new and new mechanisms are being introduced to avoid violations of traffic rules and rules of conduct in the city.

As practice shows, none of the solutions has yet brought significant results. This is due to the fact that not all PMDs can be assigned a number for identification. Not all vehicles belong to kicksharing services, and there are no cameras everywhere.

Earlier www1.ru reported that cameras will appear in Russia to record violations by PMD drivers.
