В России разрабатывают систему диагностики для оценки состояния элетропоездов

The development has undergone a series of tests on the unmanned Lastochka train

Specialists from the Railway Transport Research Institute (VNIIZhT), commissioned by Russian Railways (RZD), have reached the final stage of developing a prescriptive diagnostics system (PDS) for electric trains. The IT solution will allow predicting the need for repairs, according to the RZD press service.

PDS is a software and hardware complex consisting of an onboard part (located on the electric train) and a server part (installed in the control center for unmanned Lastochka trains).

Information from the onboard systems is sent to the server, and in the process of analysis, recommendations are issued for the further operation of the electric train.
Alexey Sidorov, Project Manager

The PDS project was developed for unmanned Lastochka electric trains. In the future, it is planned to install it on any rolling stock with different levels of automation.

The prescriptive diagnostics system will help reduce the cost of unplanned train repairs. The development will also eliminate costs associated with disruptions to the electric train schedule.

The system passed control tests in 2023, and preparations are underway to integrate it into the Lastochka ES2G No. 136 electric train. By the end of 2024, the PDS will be put into mass operation.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the import-substituted Lastochka will be delivered to RZD in the first half of 2024.
