In Russia, in 2024, the number of lawsuits between IT companies and businesses increased by 30% compared to 2023. This was reported by representatives of RTM Group.
RTM Group explained this dynamic by an increase in demand for domestic IT solutions and import substitution of IT products from foreign developers.
K&P.Group stated that the reason for the lawsuit is often the use of software "outside the contract" or "after the termination of the license agreement." NSP added that in the past year, on behalf of its clients, it filed lawsuits to recover compensation from businesses for the unlicensed use of software in the amount of about 300 million rubles.
Copyright holders have become more attentive to the registration of rights to their products.
The lawyer expressed confidence that the number of such proceedings will increase. At the same time, IT companies can demand compensation from businesses not only for the use of software, but also for patents and trademarks, Tilling summarized.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the first domestic complex for assembling software has appeared in Russia.
