Amendments to the federal law "On the National Guard Troops", which allow such replenishment, were introduced by the State Duma in the summer of 2023. The "Rosgvardia" received the right to have not only Lebedev pistols and Kalashnikov assault rifles, sniper rifles and machine guns, classified anti-drone "Burners", automotive and armored vehicles. The structure has become available more significant equipment: military equipment, including heavy. President Vladimir Putin signed the updated federal law on August 4, 2023.
Then the RBC publication, referring to its "source familiar with the situation", noted that the Rosgvardia would receive exactly the same weapons as the internal troops: from tanks and armored personnel carriers to anti-aircraft missile systems.
