A civilian drone manufacturing plant will begin construction in the Rostov region. The project will be undertaken by Roboavia. Its costs at the first stage will amount to 300 million rubles, then — 200 million rubles.
The implementation period of the investment project has not been adjusted, the completion of the project and reaching the design capacity are scheduled for the end of 2024
The plant plans to produce 1,100 units of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) of various modifications annually. They will be used for monitoring traffic conditions, for sowing and harvesting, aerial photography and much more.
The enterprise will employ about 700 people. Roboavia will also create a center for training in UAV piloting.
This is not the only UAS manufacturing plant that may appear in Russia. The Chinese company Jitian lntelligent Equipment plans to establish the production of drones for agriculture in the Kuban. It is planned to invest 40 million rubles in the creation of a production line with a capacity of 20 devices per month. A site for construction is currently being sought.
