Traffic police officers in the Kirov region have involved drones in their work. With their help, traffic offenders are identified. Inspectors issued more than 120 fines, most often for driving into the oncoming lane.
The drone records the offender's car and monitors it until it is stopped by traffic police officers. The image from the drone is sent to the ground control station so that inspectors can quickly identify and stop the reckless driver.
Note that car owners in the Kirov region most often drove into the oncoming lane. This violation is one of the most popular in Russia. In second place is driving on the shoulder. The first violation may be punishable by deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for six months or a fine of 5,000 rubles, the second - a fine of 1,500 rubles.
Drones on highways began to be used in the summer of 2021 in 17 regions of Russia. They record violations in the Krasnodar Territory, Adygea, Udmurtia, Tatarstan, Crimea and other subjects of the Russian Federation.
