Russian cosmonauts to perform spacewalk for over 6 hours – what they will do

Live broadcast of space operations will be available

On the ISS, Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub are preparing for an upcoming spacewalk. They will go outside the ISS as early as 5:55 PM Moscow time.

Chub and Kononenko have a lot to do in 6 hours and 36 minutes. New equipment needs to be installed on the "Poisk" module, which is responsible for conducting space experiments and spacewalks. The "Quartz" device for studying space corrosion on the ISS and the space structure with the shape memory effect "TKK-KM" will be installed on the adapter, which will have to be moved from the "Zvezda" module and installed on "Poisk".

There are also tasks on the "Nauka" module, which is responsible for expanding the functionality of the Russian segment of the ISS and the program of space scientific experiments.

The cosmonauts' spacewalk and work there will be broadcast live. It can be viewed on YouTube and VKontakte of Roscosmos.
