AI to be Entrusted with Deciphering X-rays in Moscow Clinics

Doctors will continue to verify the results of the neural network data until September

In Moscow medical institutions, artificial intelligence will analyze X-rays. This opens up the possibility for diagnosis without the participation of a doctor.

About 2 million X-rays and fluorographies are performed annually. This information was announced in his Telegram channel by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. In most cases, the results of studies are preventive and do not show pathologies. Therefore, it was decided to entrust the analysis of medical data to artificial intelligence.

The cost of the new service will be included in mandatory medical insurance. For Russian citizens, the technologies will still remain free.

Patients will receive conclusions from the neural network by mail. The mailing will start in May of this year. To eliminate diagnostic errors, all data will be additionally rechecked by leading radiologists of the capital until September. If there are no errors in the operation of the neural network, it is planned to diagnose X-rays without the participation of doctors in the future.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to consider the possibility of artificial intelligence working in integration with medical services.
