Russian Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov announced at a meeting of the Commission on the Development of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) that the federal educational program on drone operation will launch in schools and colleges across the country starting September 1, 2024. This was reported by the Cabinet press service.
Full readiness of the program must be ensured by September 1
He instructed representatives from the Ministry of Education and Rosaviatsiya to address the issue of teacher certification and to verify the educational programs.
Drone operator training centers will open on July 1 in 523 schools and 30 colleges in 30 regions of Russia. Training flight areas, repair stations, and 3D printing zones for spare parts will be set up on their premises.
The meeting also discussed the procurement of UAVs for educational institutions. To equip the schools, authorities will purchase over 17,000 UAVs. Tenders will be announced by May 1.
