The Omsktransmash plant has prepared a batch of modernized "flying" tanks of the T-80B/BV family for shipment to the Russian military. Journalists of the Polish publication Defence 24 expressed concern about the growing threat from Russia.
It is not known how many copies of the T-80B/BV are still in the strategic reserves of the Russian Federation. We also do not know how many vehicles the Russians are able to repair and return to service
Features of the modernized T-80:
- New fire control system with the Sosna-U or PNM-T sight, which have day/thermal imaging channels, a laser rangefinder
- Auxiliary sight "Double"
- Night vision device TKN-3M "Crystal"
- Large-caliber machine gun NSVT
Polish media noted that Russia has a large stock of military equipment, and this is a cause for concern.
Both Poland and NATO as a whole cannot ignore this threat
Poland is closely monitoring the upgrade of T-80 tanks. Prior to this, Polish media shared a satellite image taken over St. Petersburg, which shows hundreds of combat vehicles waiting for modernization.
Earlier it was reported that the Omsk plant will create a new version of "flying" tanks based on the T-80.
