"Gostech" announced the imminent launch of five environmental services: "Tourism in Specially Protected Natural Areas", "Tourism in Specially Protected Natural Areas", "Environmental Supervision", "Eco-Quarry", "Environmental Monitoring" and "Waste Cadastre". The project authors plan to use artificial intelligence to identify illegal landfills and quarries in Russia.
All five services will work in tandem with the federal state information system "Environmental Monitoring", which already includes 16 areas. It includes monitoring the ecosystem of Lake Baikal, wildlife, forest reproduction, aquatic biological resources, environmental pollution and other wildlife objects.
Maksut Shadaev, who holds the post of Minister of Digital Development, stressed that there were no technological solutions for monitoring illegal landfills and quarries in Russia before, although there are many problems and violations in this area. So far, not all regions have joined the projects, but with proper development and investment, the work of the services can be scaled up to the whole country.
Neural networks are becoming more popular and are already used in a variety of fields. It was previously reported that Roskomnadzor will begin to identify prohibited content on the network using artificial intelligence.
