С космодрома Восточный полетит российская сверхтяжёлая ракета для Луны и Марса

Flight tests are scheduled for 2033

Russia will begin active work on creating a super-heavy-class space rocket complex (SRC STC) at Vostochny in 2025. They plan to spend ten years implementing the federal mega-project. Such a rocket will be able to fly to the Moon and Mars.

These figures and plans were announced to journalists by Deputy Prime Minister — Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. According to him, SRC STC is part of a special state program.

The passport of the federal project was approved by the decision of the governing council of the state program of the Russian Federation "Russian Space Activities" last year. According to preliminary estimates, the amount of budget financing for the federal project will be about 600 billion rubles.

In accordance with the decree of President Vladimir Putin, the rocket will undergo flight tests in 2033.

It is already known that the Rocket and Space Center (RCC) "Progress", which worked on the super-heavy-class carrier rocket "Yenisei", is working on the project. A decree on the creation of such a rocket for flights to the Moon was signed at the beginning of 2018 by the president, however, in 2021 the project was suspended by Roscosmos.

On the air of the "Samara-24" TV channel, the management of "Progress" said that now there are "various variations" regarding the SRC STC, how many stages the rocket will have, and what will be the basis.

We had a state contract for a technical project for a super-heavy vehicle, but at a certain point, the state customer, represented by the state corporation, decided that this work should be temporarily suspended... A program for creating this complex is now being formed, but this work is not yet completed.
General Director of RCC "Progress" Dmitry Baranov

It is not yet clear whether any developments from Yenisei will be used, or whether this will be a fundamentally new project.
