Technopromexport has started operating the second power unit of the "Udarnaya" Thermal Power Plant in the Krasnodar Territory with a capacity of 228 MW. The electricity will be used to supply the residential and industrial sectors during the summer load on the power system, Rostec reported.
According to the head of the board of JSC "System Operator", Fedor Osadchy, the launch of new generating equipment at the thermal power plant is a long-awaited event for the south of Russia. The "Udarnaya" Thermal Power Plant was built due to the growing economy of the region and the projected shortage of capacity.
After the introduction of the second power unit, the thermal power plant supplies 456 MW of energy. It includes the Russian gas turbine GTD-110M manufactured by UEC. This is the first power plant of this capacity with an efficiency of over 36%, which is comparable to foreign analogues.
Earlier, "Power Machines" began producing a large-capacity gas turbine GTE-170 to replace Siemens equipment.
