AvtoVAZ has launched the assembly of LADA Granta in Azerbaijan at the facilities of a local partner. The cars are assembled from imported components. This is AvtoVAZ's first LADA assembly project in the republic.
We are starting with Granta and plan to expand the range of local production with the Niva family (Legend and Travel) by the end of 2024, test samples have already been assembled and are undergoing quality audit. Later, the Vesta family will join them
By the end of 2024, 1,500 LADA cars will be produced in Azerbaijan, and within a few years AvtoVAZ hopes to increase production to 4-5 thousand cars per year.
Sokolov said for the first time that AvtoVAZ plans to start assembling cars in Azerbaijan in February this year.
Note that car production in Azerbaijan in 2023 increased by 82.4% compared to 2022. A total of 3,738 cars were assembled. And in January-February 2024, 574 cars were produced in the republic, which is a quarter more than in the same period last year.
