Rosatom and Avtotor will create a battery assembly plant for electric vehicles in Kaliningrad. The corresponding agreement was signed at the international forum ATOMEXPO 2024.
The assembly of traction batteries will be carried out on the territory of the automobile plant, the workshop will occupy 1.5 thousand square meters. At the initial stage, the production capacity will be 10 thousand batteries per year.
The following will be assembled here:
- electrical components
- battery control units and boards
- energy storage devices based on lithium-ion battery modules
A full cycle of electrical and climatic acceptance tests of batteries at charging and discharging stations and climatic equipment is also provided. The production site will be operational in early 2025.

Deputy Head of the Board of Directors of Avtotor, Alexander Soroki, emphasized that the company is creating a unique production complex that will produce both electric vehicles and components for them. According to him, cooperation with Rosatom is an important step in the development of new technologies in the field of creating a universal component base.
Earlier, the cost of the Amberavto A5 electric sedan produced by Avtotor in Kaliningrad became known.
