A new model has appeared on the Russian truck market. The domestic company "Sollers" has released a new long-wheelbase version of the Sollers Argo. The total length of the cabover truck is 5.8 meters, and the wheelbase — the longitudinal distance between the axes of the front and rear wheels — is 3000 mm. This is reported by the automaker's press service. The turning diameter of the new Sollers Argo version has increased by half a meter and is 12 meters.
Three body options are available to customers: commercial, isothermal, and flatbed. All of them are Russian-made. The loading height of the body is 785 mm, so the truck can accommodate up to 6 pallets measuring 1200×800 mm. The gross weight of the Sollers Argo is 3490 kg.
There are no surprises in terms of technical specifications: a 130-horsepower turbodiesel engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Its maximum torque is 285 N·m at 2200–2600 rpm. The fuel tank holds 65 liters. The Sollers Argo's front suspension is independent torsion bar on double wishbones, and the rear suspension is leaf springs with a stabilizer bar. The front brakes are disc brakes, and the rear brakes are drum brakes, with a load pressure regulator.
The truck is equipped with the following: air conditioning, audio system, power windows and electric mirror adjustment. The steering column moves in height. There are two airbags, ABS and ESP systems, cruise control and fog lights.
It should be recalled that the Sollers Argo is a Russified Chinese JAC N25/N35 truck — the difference between them is in the gross weight. The "Chinese" truck is a copy of the second-generation Hyundai Porter. The trucks are produced in Yelabuga. The head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, stated in November 2022 that the company's commercial vehicles are in demand on the Russian market.
