GAZ has started serial production of "GAZelle e-City" (A68R5E) mini electric buses. Prior to this, they were tested for almost a year in "Mosgortrans" on route 883.
"GAZelle e-City" is similar to "GAZelle City": engine in the front, rear-wheel drive, and a rear axle with air suspension. The electric bus is equipped with a synchronous electric motor with a power of 136 hp and a traction battery with a capacity of 81 kWh.
This electric bus does not have a pantograph on top — the charging access is located under the emblem on the radiator facing. A full charge takes three to four hours, and it will be 80 percent charged in just half an hour. The electric bus travels up to 150 kilometers between charges.
Inside there are 16 seats: 13 seated plus three places for passengers who are standing. There is a mechanical ramp for access to the cabin for passengers with reduced mobility and a place for a wheelchair or stroller. As in a regular electric bus, there are video cameras, charging connectors and a video surveillance system. All the components of the mini-electric bus, as previously announced by the manufacturers, are domestic.
