Work on putting the fifth-generation Sarmat missile systems on combat duty with a heavy multi-stage liquid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile and Peresvet laser weapon systems (refers to weapons based on new physical principles -note from the editors of www1.ru) are in the final stage, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
The West knows that we are at a fairly advanced stage of completing work on Poseidon, Peresvet, Burevestnik, and Sarmat.
