More than 50% of farmers in Russia are interested in using agricultural drones for cultivating agricultural land. This data is provided in a report by T1 holding and "Skolkovo" based on the survey results.
Most of all, farmers are interested in creating a terrain map, treating fields with plant protection products, and tracking the progress of drones online. In addition, farmers want to receive images of territories from drones and data from space.
Currently, agricultural drones perform the following functions:
- Sowing seeds
- Treating the field with chemicals
- Monitoring crops
It has been proven that the use of drones in agriculture increases yields. Despite its prospects, this direction is developing very slowly. According to the "Aeronext" association, in the last 5 years, purchases of agricultural drones account for only 4% of the total volume of drone purchases in the country.
Earlier it was reported that universities in the Stavropol region will start training agricultural drone pilots this year. It is about controlling drones weighing up to 30 kg.
