DIY in Russian: Obukhov Plant Starts Production of Drone Self-Assembly Kits

The price of the Russian drone assembly kit will be cheaper than the Chinese one

St. Petersburg's Obukhov Plant (part of the Almaz-Antey concern) has launched the production of kits for self-assembly of nine-inch quadcopters, said Egor Shcherbakov, chief designer for civilian development at the enterprise.

According to him, the company produces controllers, engines, modems, devices for interfacing with consoles, repeaters, antennas, and frames.

At the same time, the Obukhov Plant promised that the cost of Russian kits would be lower than Chinese ones. It is expected that drones will be used for cargo delivery. Ordering kits will be available on the company's website. However, the company did not specify when they would appear.

Earlier, specialists from MSTU developed a controller for a drone consisting of Russian components. The serial production of devices is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.
