The Russian online trading platform Wildberries is considering entering new markets, including Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, and the Persian Gulf countries, according to the company's CEO Tatyana Bakalchuk.
To continue growing, we need to expand our geographical presence
The management of Wildberries is primarily considering the CIS countries. Bakalchuk emphasized that the platform already operates in all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. There is interest in Azerbaijan, where it is necessary to think through logistics, she added.
In the spring, at the forum "Russia - Islamic World", there were representatives from the Middle East, many of whom were interested in Wildberries
In 2024, the company will be "closely" looking at the UAE and the Persian Gulf countries. Negotiations are already underway with some states, Bakalchuk concluded.
Earlier it was reported that Wildberries has started working with Chinese companies. Now they will be able to directly supply their goods to the online platform. At the same time, Russians were assured that this would not affect their business in any way.
