The first group of space satellites providing internet access will appear in 2026. Russians will have the opportunity to use fast and cheap internet throughout the country, said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev.

According to the minister, by the same time, high-speed networks will appear in Russia so that in every multi-story building, subscribers can use the Internet at a speed of at least 1 Gb/s. In megacities, the authorities will develop the 5G project based on domestic base stations.
Earlier it was reported that in 2024 internet and communications may rise in price by 10-15% due to the need to change telecommunications equipment and the increase in costs associated with sanctions against the Russian Federation.
