Serial production of heavy strike drones "Okhotnik" will be handled by specialists at the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant, and it will begin in the second half of 2024, according to Sergey Semka, Vice Governor of the Novosibirsk Region.
According to him, the "Okhotnik" drones are currently in the final stage of testing. It is known that the first flight of the drone took place in 2019 and was accompanied by a Su-57, and its rollout took place in Novosibirsk at the end of 2021.
The UAV was developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and is manufactured at the Novosibirsk plant (part of UAC). Presumably, the "Okhotnik" drones will carry guided missiles and bombs in an internal compartment, as well as on underwing suspension units.
The Russian Navy plans to strengthen its naval aviation with the help of "Okhotnik" drones. The fleet's leadership is paying close attention to this issue.
Earlier, UAC announced plans for the mass production of strike drones.
