The authorities of the Kaliningrad region have purchased 10 multifunctional reconnaissance drones of the helicopter type "Som-5". This was announced by the governor of the region, Anton Alikhanov.
The Som-5 is capable of flying 200 km, staying en route for more than three hours, and climbing to a height of up to 5 km. The drone does not make noise during the flight. It is equipped with a thermal imaging camera that helps military personnel monitor the enemy in the dark.
Earlier it was reported that engineers of the designbureau "MiS" have developed a drone with a program to return to the starting point in case of loss of communication with the operator.
