Testing of the new tracked version of the Pantsir-SM-SV anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM system) (produced by NPO High-Precision Complexes) has entered the final stage, the Rostec press service reported.
The weapon is mounted on a tracked chassis, thanks to which the SAM systems will be able to cover infantry and air defense systems during their transfer through snow and off-road conditions. Rostec believes that the appearance of such systems in the Russian Armed Forces will increase the capabilities of air defense at low altitudes.
Earlier it was reported that the modified Pantsir-SM SAM systems received mini-missiles to engage small air targets. A distinctive feature of the complex is the function of engaging a swarm of drones with the simultaneous launch of 96 missiles at them.
