The Kalashnikov Group is planning to expand. If the FAS of Russia agrees, the Kirov Mayak Plant PJSC will become part of the group. It has been producing military equipment for the Russian army for many years and is one of the leading machine-building enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
The entry of the Mayak plant into the Kalashnikov management circuit has a very clear logic. First of all, it is synergy in terms of the production of high-precision weapons. Both Mayak and the Kalashnikov Group companies have accumulated serious expertise in the production of this type of product. Therefore, mutual enrichment will obviously lead to an increase in the quality of the produced range, a reduction in costs and, as a result, a clearer and more coordinated execution of the state defense order.
Mayak has been working for the domestic defense industry since 1941. For its services in providing the Soviet Army and Navy during the Great Patriotic War, the Mayak plant was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War I degree. After the war, it produced both military and civilian products, and continued to operate in the nineties after the collapse of the USSR in the Russian Federation.
Currently, Mayak operates in many areas: stamping, casting, mechanical engineering, construction, heat treatment of metals and alloys, coating creation, and others. The plant calmly fulfills state orders for the supply of special military products, and its products can also be found on the international market.
It also produces mastered military products for civilian use. For example, this is a series of non-barrel aerosol pistols for self-defense "Udar" and other modifications of civilian self-defense weapons. Among other peaceful areas of production, you can find pulse collectors, gas compressor equipment, priority panels.
