The authorities of Russia and Belarus are developing a project to build a high-speed railway (HSR) line that will connect Moscow and Minsk, said Oleg Toni, Deputy Head of Russian Railways.
According to him, the route that passes through the territory of Russia has already been included in the plan. The design of the Moscow - Kazan - Yekaterinburg section has been completed.
Now the management of Russian Railways is discussing further joint actions with the Belarusian side. In addition, as Toni noted, experts have prepared a justification for investments for the Moscow - Adler section, which is associated with the international transport corridor "Center-South".
It is known that almost 21.7 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of HSR next year from extra-budgetary sources.
Earlier it was reported that the construction of trains that will run on the HSR is being carried out by the company "Sinara - Transport Machines" with the participation of specialists from Russian Railways. The rolling stock will be able to reach speeds of up to 400 km/h. It is expected that the train will receive intelligent control based on artificial intelligence.
