In the first quarter of 2024, Russia is expected to experience a boom in hacker attacks, and by March their number may increase by 15%. This was stated by Dmitry Khomutov, CEO of Ideco, a company that develops information security tools.
According to the expert, the reason is the double policy of a number of companies. Officially, in order to comply with the law, they purchase Russian software, which is quite effective in combating cyber security threats. But in practice, foreign software is used within companies.
It is difficult to say what percentage of the market adheres to this strategy, but it is impossible to deny the obvious trend that has emerged, including among representatives of the financial industry by the end of 2023.
Due to sanctions, foreign software cannot be updated in time, nor can it be serviced in time. This creates risks for both companies and their clients.
