St. Petersburg Design Bureau "Engineering Center of Shipbuilding" presented renders of a new generation of passenger ships of the "Zarya" series.
The developers promise that the ships, which will receive modern navigation equipment, will move at high speed.
It is planned to create two modifications: "Zarya-M" with a capacity of 80 passengers and "Zarya-Max", which can accommodate 120 people on board. A small crew of no more than three people is needed to operate the ships.
The first version can reach speeds of up to 35 km/h, and the second - 45 km/h. The ships are characterized by shallow draft and the presence of a water jet propeller.
The high-speed passenger ship of class "R" type "Zarya" of project R83 was built in 1971. The lead ship of the project developed a speed of up to 43 km/h.
