The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia has proposed allocating 27 billion rubles to support startups operating in the field of information technology (IT), as well as allowing them to participate in public procurement.
It is known that the grant system has existed in Russia for several years. In 2022, 362 projects received support in the amount of 4.7 billion rubles. And this year, due to a high-profile corruption scandal involving the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Pashin, funding was reduced. Thus, in 2023, 600 million rubles were allocated in the form of grants for 45 projects.
According to media reports, by 2030, grant support for startups should grow to 27 billion rubles with investments of 4.5 billion rubles annually. To increase sales of new products created under the grant, startups may be allowed to participate in tenders. It is proposed to give them the opportunity to conclude agreements for up to 10 million rubles.
The support includes funding for the development of a prototype, the creation of the product itself, its launch on the Russian market, as well as compensation for the implementation of the product and its promotion in foreign markets.
In the next six years, the Ministry of Digital Development wants to support a thousand startups. The department expects that by 2035 there will be at least one "unicorn" (a startup company whose market value is estimated at more than 1 billion dollars - note by www1.ru editors), whose revenue will exceed 1 billion rubles, as well as five "champions" with revenue exceeding 500 million rubles.
The ministry hopes that the companies that receive grants will create at least 2,000 IT solutions and products, the revenue from sales of which will be at the level of 60 billion rubles.
Earlier it was reported that the startup company "Atom" from Tatarstan received pre-orders for the electric car being developed.
