The Russian brand "Moskvich" has been included in the list of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for purchases by officials, which has had a positive impact on the development of the plant, said Oleg Maslyakov, Production Director of JSC "Moskvich", summing up the year of the company's operation since the release of the first car of the same name.

According to him, all orders are published on government procurement portals, and official Moskvich dealers participate in them.
About pricing
Maslyakov believes that the brand's cars may become cheaper with active localization of production. The company has already started welding and painting the body, and small-unit assembly is planned. However, pricing will be affected by the volume of cars produced and the reduction in logistics costs, he stressed.
About increasing sales
The management of "Moskvich" plans to increase production and develop a dealer network in Russia. The company hopes that this approach will contribute to sales growth. Maslyakov stressed that the plant's plan for 2024 is to produce about 50 thousand cars. At the end of 2023, the company intends to reach a production volume of 27 thousand units, including 4.2 thousand electric vehicles.
About new products and entering new markets
Maslyakov promised that by the end of 2024, Russian drivers will be able to buy a new D-class crossover "Moskvich 8". It is expected that the car will be produced on the basis of the Chinese mid-size SUV JAC X7. Model dimensions: length 4776 mm, wheelbase - 2750 mm. In addition, mass production of the "Moskvich 5" crossover will begin in the first half of next year.
The plant plans to increase its presence in the Russian market, and in the future to establish deliveries of cars to foreign markets, Maslyakov concluded.
Earlier it was reported that "Moskvich" has new suppliers of paints and varnishes. The plant will offer cars in five colors.
