Most dangerous: Russia to create a list of VPN services for mandatory blocking

If the commission, according to the Ministry of Digital Development, decides that the service is dangerous, it will be blocked. Filtering of specific VPN services and VPN protocols on the mobile network for foreign traffic will occur on the basis of a government decree.

Over the past year, the automated Internet security system (ASBI) of the Monitoring and Control Center of the public communication network has already managed toblock or restrict the operation of 167 VPNs and more than 200 mail services. They posed a threat to the stability, security and integrity of the communication network.

In general, during this time, ASBI blocked or restricted the operation of more than half a million Russian information resources of various kinds.
