Russian telecom operator MTS has made internet tethering from mobile devices free for its subscribers.
In order to create the most comfortable conditions for mobile internet usage for MTS subscribers, the fee for tethering traffic from smartphones to other devices on tariff plans with prepaid traffic packages is cancelled.
Earlier in September this year, representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service issued a warning to the four leaders of the telecommunications market about charging for internet tethering to other devices. They found it disadvantageous for clients.
"Beeline", "MegaFon", MTS and Tele2 were given just a month to sort out their tariff grids. MTS was the last to do it.
