Russian telecom operator MTS has made internet tethering free for its subscribers from mobile devices.
In order to create the most comfortable conditions for mobile internet consumption for subscribers, MTS is canceling the fee for distributing traffic from smartphones to other devices on tariffs with prepaid traffic packages.
Earlier in September this year, representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service issued a warning to the four leading telecom market players regarding the charging of fees for distributing internet traffic to other devices. It was deemed unfavorable for customers.
Beeline, MegaFon, MTS and Tele2 were given only a month to put their tariff grids in order. MTS was the last to do so.
