Preferential loans for replenishing warehouse stocks with foreign electronic components have ended

The Russian preferential loan program for the radio-electronics industry has stalled.

Replenishing warehouse stocks of electronic components from foreign companies in friendly countries will become more expensive again.
Replenishing warehouse stocks of electronic components from foreign companies in friendly countries will become more expensive again.

Since 2022, developers and manufacturers of base stations, computers, smartphones, and other domestic equipment have been able to take advantage of a preferential loan at a rate of 1–5% per annum for the purchase of such components.

However, the program was not suitable for everyone. The minimum loan amount started at 3 billion rubles, and the maximum loan limit was set at 100 billion rubles.

Small-scale manufacturers were initially unable to participate in such a program, as a loan of 3 billion rubles was prohibitive for them. But even large manufacturers who are suitable for such conditions have begun to experience problems. There are many electronics manufacturers, and the funds for their subsidization have run out. Now they have market rates on loans: 15–20% per annum.

The Ministry of Digital Development assures that it has sent a request for the allocation of additional funding for these purposes from the program for the development of the electronic and radio-electronic industry, taking into account the change in the key rate.

The extension of the preferential loan program for the radio-electronics industry for 2024 is also being considered.
