Engineers from the United Engine Corporation (UEC) plan to complete the tests of the prototype industrial engine AL-41ST-25 with a design capacity of 25 MW in December 2023. The press service of Rostec reported about this. 

As clarified in the state corporation, the engine is necessary for the needs of companies operating in the oil and gas market for high-performance gas pumping equipment. The line of gas turbine engines will also include a unit with a capacity of 32 MW. The development is being carried out by specialists from the Ufa Engine-Building Production Association (UMPO) - a leader in the aviation engine sector.

According to Rostec deputy head Vladimir Artyakov, the corporation has been steadily supplying reliable equipment for energy companies of the country for many years. Against the backdrop of foreign manufacturers leaving Russia, the demand for the products of enterprises included in the UEC has sharply increased. Artyakov emphasized that domestic developers need to replace about a quarter of the small and medium power turbine market.

In this regard, great attention is paid to the work of UMPO specialists. It is expected that in the coming years a wide range of gas turbine equipment will appear in Russia, including PD-14GP-1/2, AL-41ST-25/32 and NK-36ST-32. 

It was previously reported that the UEC had begun to create a turbine for marine mining platforms. The installation will be able to work on gas, kerosene or diesel.
