The full-sized Chinese SUV Tank 500 (sub-brand of Great Wall Motors) may be localized at the Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus plant in Tula, according to automotive expert Sergey Tsyganov. According to him, this is not going to happen earlier than the third quarter of 2025.
The expert came to these conclusions after learning that in Tula they want to organize the assembly of engines for Tank 500 - V6 E30Z.
Tsyganov added that the same engine is planned to be installed on Russian Aurus. He believes that for a family of executive-class cars, it will be a "relatively cheap production motor". Tsyganov did not provide any other details.
The Tank 500 in the SUV body has been produced since 2021. The car has a 4 × 4 wheel formula, equipped with a four-cylinder internal combustion engine with a capacity of 2 liters, an automatic transmission.
Aurus is a domestic brand. The development of armored versions of SUVs is handled by specialists of FSUE "NAMI". Standard models are produced in Sollers-Elabuga. The pride of the Russian automotive industry is considered to be the Aurus Komendant. At the wheel of this model was the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, he also presented it to his colleagues from the CIS countries.
